Energy-Efficient Features
Here's what you can look for:
Energy-Efficient Elements We Recommend
Every home is different, which is why GTG Builders recommends energy-efficient solutions based on your home's design, budget, and long-term goals. From insulation and windows to heating systems and building materials, we help homeowners select products that improve comfort, durability, and energy performance.
Radiant Floor Heating
Radiant floor heating is one of the most popular energy-efficient upgrades because it provides consistent, even warmth without the drafts often associated with forced-air systems. It's an excellent option for bathrooms, kitchens, basements, additions, and primary suites.
High-Performance Insulation
Proper insulation and air sealing help reduce heat loss, improve comfort, and increase HVAC efficiency. Depending on your project, we may recommend spray foam, blown-in cellulose, fiberglass, or rigid foam insulation to create a better-performing home.
Energy-Efficient Windows & Doors
High-performance windows and exterior doors help reduce drafts and improve year-round comfort. We help homeowners compare Low-E glass, insulated windows and doors, and other products designed to improve energy efficiency.
Heating & Cooling Systems
A well-designed HVAC system is essential for an energy-efficient home. We help homeowners evaluate options such as high-efficiency furnaces, heat pumps, ductless mini-splits, zoned systems, smart thermostats, and energy recovery ventilators (ERVs).
Lighting, Appliances & Smart Technology
LED lighting, ENERGY STAR® appliances, and smart home technology can reduce energy consumption while improving convenience. These upgrades are often incorporated into custom homes and remodeling projects for long-term savings.
Solar Panel Planning
Whether you're ready for solar now or planning for the future, we can help design a home that supports solar panel installation. Factors such as roof size, orientation, sun exposure, and electrical capacity all influence the amount of solar your home can accommodate.
Durable, Energy-Efficient Materials
The materials used to build your home affect both energy performance and longevity. Depending on your project, we may recommend products such as fiber cement siding, standing seam metal roofing, advanced insulation systems, energy-efficient windows, and other durable, low-maintenance materials designed for long-term performance.
OUR DESIGN-BUILD PROCESS
We take the time to understand your project, whether it's a custom home or remodeling project, while you get familiar with our process and expertise. Once you're committed to working with us, we'll figure out your starting point. The beginning step for a custom home differs from a remodel or addition. We build your design based on your stated needs and goals. Once your design is complete, we create and present your detailed Statement of Work.
We start this portion by handling all necessary permitting and paperwork. With approvals in place, construction begins, turning designs into reality. This is the hammer and nail portion, where we build your custom home, remodel, or new addition. Our team oversees every construction and project management phase, using on-site meetings and project management software to keep you updated and track and organize all the paperwork and permits.
After you’ve moved in, we remain available to assist with any questions or concerns. Whether it’s a simple check-in or helping with a minor adjustment, we prioritize long-term client satisfaction. Six months after completion, we’ll follow up to confirm everything is in top condition. A year later, we’ll reconnect to ensure everything is perfect and address any concerns that might have appeared. Our goal is your complete approval of the finished project.

Every project begins with understanding how the home will be used. Rather than recommending the same products for every client, GTG Builders evaluates the property's existing conditions, the homeowner's priorities, and the overall project scope before recommending energy-efficient solutions.
What Energy-Efficient Systems Are Right for You?
Our energy-efficiency quiz allows you to see what elements make sense for your goals and plans. A successful energy-efficient home in NJ isn't built around a single feature like solar panels or upgraded insulation. Instead, it combines multiple systems that complement one another. High-performance windows work best when paired with proper insulation. Heating and cooling equipment performs more efficiently when the home is well air sealed. Building materials influence both energy performance and long-term durability.
By considering the home as a complete system, we help homeowners make informed decisions that balance upfront investment with long-term performance. You can check out our process, portfolio, and custom home guide to get a better idea of working with us no matter which service you choose.

- What Makes a Home Energy Efficient in Central New Jersey and Upper Bucks County?expand_more

An energy-efficient home is designed to reduce energy consumption while maintaining a comfortable indoor environment throughout the year. In Central New Jersey and Upper Bucks County, where homeowners experience cold winters, hot summers, and fluctuating temperatures, this often means combining high-performance insulation, air sealing, energy-efficient windows and doors, and properly sized heating and cooling systems. When these components work together, homeowners can enjoy more consistent indoor temperatures, improved comfort, and lower energy costs.
- Is Radiant Floor Heating a Good Option for Homes in New Jersey?expand_more

Yes. Radiant floor heating is one of the most popular energy-efficient upgrades for homeowners in New Jersey because it delivers consistent, even warmth without relying on forced air. It's especially beneficial in bathrooms, kitchens, basements, additions, and primary suites where homeowners appreciate warm floors and fewer drafts. Depending on your project, radiant heat can also be incorporated throughout larger areas of the home to improve comfort and energy efficiency.
- Can GTG Builders Build a Home That Is Solar Ready?expand_more
-
Absolutely. Even if you're not planning to install solar panels immediately, GTG Builders can incorporate solar-ready features into your custom home or renovation. We can also help homeowners understand the factors that determine how many solar panels a home may be able to accommodate.
- Are There Energy-Efficiency Tax Credits and Incentives Available in New Jersey and Pennsylvania?expand_more

Custom Home Build in Tewksbury
What Our Clients Think
"Andrew, Paul and Bob were absolutely terrific to work with throughout this project. Their service and product were more than we could have expected. This was not an easy project due to several zoning board appeals required, but they instilled confidence and over delivered each step of the way. They were fun to work with and now that they are almost done we will miss them as I hope they will miss us. This is a tough business to find trustworthy and reliable people. I have made several strong recommendations to friends and peers looking for projects of any size."
